Welcome
Our Story

Community Christian Fellowship began Sunday, July 17, 1973, when sixteen families met in a little church house on the North side of Siloam Springs for worship.  A congregational meeting followed where C. L. Smythe made a motion to enter into a new charter to start a new Christian Church.  Mr. Wayne Brown seconded, and the vote was unanimous.  On August 16, 1973, the small body of believers filed articles of association with the State of Arkansas and eight days later, their papers were certified by the State Department.

The original papers state the reason for their incorporation: “To promote, foster and aid the religious development of the members of the Twin Springs Christian Church [the original name] and to provide a physical location for worship services of said church body” (Articles of incorporation, p. 1).

Soon after, an offer was made (and accepted) on TSCC’s first building, located on the corner of S. Washington and E. Twin Springs St., near downtown Siloam Springs. Following renovations, the congregation enjoyed the use of that building for nearly thirty years.

During that time God has blessed. Through the ministry of this sometimes small, and sometimes large community of believers, many have come to faith and many more have been changed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the late 1990’s the leadership began looking for new property and facilities to accommodate the growing congregation (the church was holding three services on a Sunday morning in the old building).

In June of 2002, the decision was made to purchase the current facility, which at that time was a vacant furniture store. Again, renovations began, with the congregation doing as much of the work as allowed by law and building code. After two very long years of construction, the building was dedicated and since that time the focus has been, not on the physical building, but on the actual church—that is the people who comprise the congregation that meets inside these walls.

While CCF has had its share of ups and downs in the process of learning what it means to be the Body of Christ, what the purpose of the church is and how the church is to function, God continues to do a great work in the lives of those who worship in this place. He has worked in and through this congregation in spite of weakness and uncertainty. He has used brokenness to bring healing to others. He has taken the meager offerings of fish and loaves and fed the multitudes. He has taken barely burning embers and made a light for those in darkness. But most of all God has shown Himself faithful to His people who love Him and desire to serve Him with all their heart, soul and mind.

God has also expanded our vision and purpose. As stated earlier, the first, “To promote, foster and aid the religious development of the members… and to provide a physical location for worship services of said church body” has been simplified and expanded: “Community Christian Fellowship exists to know Jesus and to make Him known.” The short version is simply, “Know Him, Make Him Known” (for further explanation, see “Our Purpose”). It is loving God and loving our neighbor. It is reaching up and reaching out. It is equipping disciples for ministry and at the same time, making disciples of all nations. It is who we are and what we do.

I pray you will take the time to get to know us and, if God is leading you, to join us as we seek to know Him and make Him known.

Serving Him,

Jay Foley
