Worship Through Service

Worship Through Service

The goal of Worship Through Service is for visitors at CCF to experience at least three positive encounters between the parking lot and the worship center. Whether it's from the parking lot team, the door greeters, the ushers, or welcome center hosts – each guest, member or visitor should receive three positive “touches” before the service begins!

Why WTS?

First, impressions are lasting ones! When someone comes to CCF for the first time, an impression will be made – for good or for bad.  We have an opportunity to make their first impression a positive one.  A smile, a greeting, a helpful spirit will encourage and uplift those who come.

Second, it balances out the "bigness" of CCF. God has blessed us with a large building and our attendance is growing... To a first time guest, this place can seem overwhelming and intimidating.  But when we fill the parking lot, the hallways, the worship center and everywhere in between with smiling faces, the building doesn't seem so big, and the atmosphere is welcoming for newcomers.

Third, we show love for one another in the “brethren”. This is not just about serving guests and new visitors.  This is also serving members and regular attenders of CCF.  We’re not just shaking hands with new faces.  This is about preparing an atmosphere of worship for ALL.

Which brings us to the fourth reason: we help prepare people for worship. Long before the praise and worship music begins, long before the message is delivered, long before our guests and members begin to be stirred in their spirits by the uplifting services here, they need to see Jesus in the face of a brother or sister. This happens when folks are greeted cheerfully and are made to feel welcome and at home at CCF.  When people are relaxed and at ease, then they are much more receptive to hearing the Truth.

Finally, WTS allows us to address misconceptions. Sometimes people come to CCF with misconceptions: “I'll just be another face in the crowd.” “I'll never fit in.” “No one really cares that I’m here.” We can tear down those misconceptions and make a great first impression in the name of Jesus by intentionally serving and welcoming them through one of the WTS teams.

Worship Through Service…Worship Through Celebration!

In order to facilitate Worship Through Service, we offering two Sunday morning celebration services (9:00 & 10:30).

The motivation behind multiple worship services is to allow servants in the congregation to perform their ministry on Sunday mornings AND give them the opportunity to relax, worship, and hear the teaching of scripture.  With only one service, people had to choose between serving and being fed in the celebration time.
But, now the CCF family can now “Sit One and Serve One”.  We hope that everyone in the congregation will join in this approach, so that on Sunday mornings this entire body is worshipping through service to one another and also receiving nourishment through music and teaching.

The Organization of Worship Through Service (WTS)

Worship Through Service is organized and carried out through different Hospitality service teams.  The following describes their basic function:

Transportation Team – The transportation team provides scheduling, maintenance, and hospitable drivers to pick up JBU students and others who need a ride to CCF on Sunday mornings and special needs throughout the week.

Parking Team – The parking team hosts are, for the majority of visitors, the first face of CCF that they encounter.

Greeting Team – The greeting team assists people in finding their way around our building as well as providing them with the Communicator—our weekly worship folder providing information about our ministry.

Welcome Center Team – The Welcome Center team offers help, information and answers to visitors on a variety of topics.

Ushering Team – Hosts and hostesses serve as ushers, assisting people in finding a seat in the worship center, directing people to desired locations, keeping the service free of disruptions and distractions, and serving communion and assists in receiving the offering.
